Andrew Bottcher

General Piano Studies  |  Composition and Arranging

Andrew began his musical journey as a curious, self-motivated explorer, inspired by the way musicians can create beauty seemingly out of thin air. He spent his early years developing his musical taste and skills independently, learning the piano and guitar by studying the music he loved. His passion soon led him to dive deeper into music theory, composition techniques, and later formal lessons in both instruments. He continued his studies at the college level, expanding his understanding of theory and creative process.

Over the years, Andrew has built a rich catalog of original music and actively performs throughout the community. His experience includes work as a piano accompanist, street performer, band member, and producer—each role adding depth to his musicianship and versatility.

Andrew began teaching three years ago through an apprenticeship program that helped him develop strong instructional and interpersonal skills. He went on to teach private in-home lessons and later joined the School of Rock, where he worked with students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds. There, he gained valuable experience leading group classes, guiding performance ensembles, and adapting his teaching style to meet individual needs.

Warm, patient, and genuinely invested in his students’ growth, Andrew brings a unique combination of creativity, encouragement, and practical skill-building to every lesson. His diverse background and supportive teaching style help students feel confident, capable, and inspired at the piano.
